I was watching Love Actually the other day - I know, it's dreadful, but it was Christmas Day, and my defences were lowered - and I noticed they're rerunning the adverts for visiting America, based on places you've seen in films.

What kind of crazy world is this where America, America, has to tout for business based on its status as a film set? Particularly when the exchange rate is now such as to make the whole country a half price sale.

I'll be doing my bit by getting married in Vegas in '08. You know, Las Vegas, from Viva Rock Vegas.

Fire Andy Townsend

Can't remember if I've mentioned it before, but Marty started a blog a while back about sport and that, particularly the media's relationship with sport and that. It's here, and I contribute occasionally. I don't know anything about sport, but the others do, so it's worth checking out.

Radio Sadness

The most disappointing entertainment story of the year, that Triple M had cancelled Get This, reached its conclusion last week: the show is no more.

Going to miss you guys.

The podcasts, all 162 of them, will still be available until the end of the year. They would help to understand the final segment of the final show, largely an in-joke dense musical montage that almost made me well-up.

From Here We Go Sublime - The Field

And Their Refinement of the Decline - Stars of the Lid

Pato yet to report.

Books to follow.
